COMPETITION RULES
- PICF Committee warmly invites all choirs from all over the world to participate in our event, The 7th PENABUR International Choir Festival (PICF 2026).
- Please carefully consider the specific requirements outlined for each category, including the number of songs, age restrictions, and any additional details.
- The choir is allowed to register for more than one category. The repertoire for each category must be different.
- For choirs participating in the school category, singers must be students from their school's representatives.
- For choirs participating in age-restricted categories, it is mandatory to submit a scan of their identification card.
- Participant who represents school, church, or who takes part in an age-restricted category, MUST send a statement letter which is signed by the school's principal or other authorized official.
- The statement letter MUST include the date of birth and the age of each member (singer, conductor, and musician). The singers' age must be taken into consideration based on the category guidelines, with the competition year (2026) used as the basis.
- The Participants will be disqualified if the committee finds any difference between the details in the statement letter and the performance on stage, and no refund will be given.
- The program that will be performed on stage must be an original work for choir, not an orchestral reduction.
- Song program MUST be approved by the PICF committee. Unapproved program will be informed and must be replaced immediately. Once the songs are approved, choir will receive a Confirmation Letter.
- Choirs are NOT allowed to repeat their repertoire across the categories. Each song can only be performed once. (Applicable only for choirs competing in multiple categories).
- Choirs who are performing songs not in English are required to submit a description or translation of the song in English.
- If the song program fits in another category, the committee reserves the right to change the selected category to another suitable category.
- The COPYRIGHT of the song is the responsibility of the participants. The committee is not responsible for any song's copyright that will be performed or the use of the song with photo copy.
- The participants must come along with the written license to use the song(s) from the composer. It is mandatory to submit a Permission Letter from the living Composer and Arranger, as well as from the publisher holding the copyright if the Composer/Arranger has passed away.
- Choir are required to provide proof of purchasing the scores for the number of participating singers.
- Each choir must submit SEVEN (7) sets of original scores for the jurors. 6 (six) sets will be returned to the participants after the awarding ceremony, and 1 (one) will be kept by the committee for the archive. If you fail to collect the scores, the committee will not send them after the closing day.
- All fixed program must be submitted latest by July 31st, 2026. PICF committee will not accept any changes after July 31st, 2026.
- All scores must be received by the committee via post before July 31st, 2026.

Indonesia - The use of unauthorized copies or handwritten copies is not permitted.
- For choir who uses instruments, the score for the instruments is COMPULSORY and must be included in the choir score.
- Choirs performing an original composition work are not allowed to change the original key. Choirs performing an arrangement are permitted to change the key, but must send a notification email to the PICF committee.
- Participants who make it to the Grand Prix round must perform 2 songs (One of your choice and one new song that has never been perform). Participants who cannot fulfill these conditions cannot compete in the Grand Prix round.
- The committee will only provide an acoustic piano.
- A maximum of 3 indefinite pitch instruments is allowed in each category and must be informed to the committee.
- Please check the terms of use of the instrument for the category you are participating in.
- The use of any kind of playback, minus one or soundtrack is strictly prohibited.
- The use of amplification is not allowed in this competition.
- Participants are required to submit a written list of properties to be used during the performance via email.
- There must be no performances with property such as: elements of fire, smoke, glassware, sharp weapons or other dangerous scenes in the building.
- Property that is not informed to the committee and is not permitted, may not be used at the time of performance.
- Please pay attention to the total pure singing time of the category you are participating in.
- The timer will begin after the first note of the 1st song and stop after the last note of the 1st song. The timer will then resume at the first note of the 2nd song and stop at the last note of the 2nd song and so forth.
- Choirs exceeding the maximum pure singing time will be penalized 1 point for every minute from their total score.
- The schedule and venue of each participant will be informed in August 2026.
- Stage rehearsal is only 5 minutes for each category. The time will be counted since the first singers enter to the stage.
- There will be no replacement of the performance and rehearsal schedule if participants do not show up at the scheduled time.
- Participants who are not present at the time of the competition will be disqualified without any refund of registration fees.
- The Participants will be evaluated by national and international juries.
- Gold, Silver and Bronze Awards will be awarded based on the score of each participant.
- Participant with GOLD Award and the highest score in each category will be named "Category Winner".
- The jury panel will nominate the choirs for the Grand Prix Competition.
- The Participants with the most juries' votes in the Grand Prix Competition will be named "Grand Prix Winner".
- The final score is the total score of the average score of each jury. All results of the juries will be considered final and cannot be contested.
- For fairness in assessment, the score from any juror who has an active teacher-student relationship with the choir's conductor, will be excluded.
- This competition uses a scoring system with the following criteria:

A special reward will be presented to a conductor or participant who shows an outstanding quality during performance. Each chosen recipient will receive a certificate and IDR 2.000.000 for a development fund.
- The participants who receive GOLD Award with the Third Highest Score in each category will earn certificates, Awards, and USD 175 development funds.
- The participants who receive GOLD Award with the Second Highest Score in each category will earn a certificate, an Award, and USD 235 development funds.
- The participants who receive GOLD Award with the First Highest Score in each category will earn a certificate, an Award, a trophy and USD 295 development funds.
- The participants who win Grand Prix prize will earn a certificate, trophy and USD 2.645 development funds.

- Junior High School Student.
- Choir prepares 2 songs.
- A capella or accompanied by acoustic instruments allowed.
- Equal Voices / Mixed Voices (SA(TB)).
- Participants: 20 – 50 Singers.
- The maximum pure singing time is 8 minutes.
- Senior High School Student.
- Choir prepares 2 songs.
- One of the songs choices must be presented in a capella.
- Equal Voices / Mixed Voices (SA(TB)).
- Participants: 20 – 50 Singers.
- The maximum pure singing time is 8 minutes.
- Choir prepares 2 songs.
- A cappella or accompanied by acoustic instruments allowed.
- S(S)A(A)/ at least 2-Part.
- Age restriction: 9 - 16 years old. (Born between January 2009 and December 2017). Tolerance: 10% of the number of singers can be 1 year older/younger than the written age restriction.
- Participants: 20 – 50 singers.
- The maximum pure singing time is 8 minutes.
- Choir prepares 3 songs.
- Two of the song choices must be presented a cappella:
- One composition is a song created between the 16th and the 19th century.
- One composition originating from the choir's home country and composed after the year 2000 is required.
- One Free-choice song (either a composition or an arrangement).
- A minimum of 4 voices is necessary (S A T B).
- Age restriction: 17 - 23 years old. (Born between January 2001 and December 2007). Tolerance: 10% of the number of singers can be 1 year older/younger than the written age restriction.
- Participants: 20 – 50 singers.
- Total pure singing time is 9-15 minutes.
- Choir prepares 2 songs.
- One of the song choices must be presented a cappella.
- One of the song choices should be an original composition (not an arrangement).
- A minimum of 4 voices is necessary (S A T B).
- Age restriction: 17 - 23 years old. (Born between January 2001 and December 2007). Tolerance: 10% of the number of singers can be 1 year older/younger than the written age restriction.
- Participants: 20 – 50 singers.
- Total pure singing time is 5-10 minutes.
- Choir prepares 3 songs.
- Two of the song choices must be presented a cappella:
- One Composition is a song created between the 16th and the 19th century.
- One composition originating from the home country of the choir and composed after the year 2000 is required.
- One Free-choice song (either a composition or an arrangement).
- A minimum of 4 voices is necessary (S A T B).
- Age restriction: min. 17 years old. Tolerance: 10% of the number of singers can be 1 year younger than the written age restriction.
- Participants: 20 – 50 singers.
- Total pure singing time is 9-15 minutes.
- Choir prepares 2 songs.
- One of the songs choices must be presented in a capella.
- One of the songs choices must be an original composition (not an arrangement).
- A minimum of 4 voices is necessary (S A T B).
- Age restriction: Min. 17 years old. Tolerance: 10% of the number of singers can be 1 year younger than the written age restriction.
- Participants: 20 - 50 singers.
- Total pure singing time is 5-10 minutes.
- Choir prepares 2 songs.
- One of the songs choices must be presented in a capella. (may include traditional musical instruments with no more than 3 players).
- One of the songs must be a folklore song from the choir's home country.
- Choir may use traditional instruments (no amplification), traditional costumes, and choreography.
- Choir must submit the score of the song along with the information regarding the origin and meaning of the song in English.
- Equal Voices / Mixed Voices - S(S)A(A) / T(T)B(B) / SATB.
- Participants: 20 - 50 singers. No age restriction.
- The maximum pure singing time is 10 minutes.
- Choir prepares 2 songs.
- One of the songs choices must be presented in a capella.
- The song program refers to religious music from around the world, such as Sacred Music, Orthodox Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism, or other faiths.
- Equal Voices / Mixed Voices - S(S)A(A) / T(T)B(B) / SATB.
- You are allowed to perform original compositions or arrangements. Only one song is allowed to be in unison.
- Participants: 20 - 50 singers. No age restriction.
- Total pure singing time is 5-10 minutes.
- Choir prepares 2 songs.
- One Composition is song created from the 16th - 19th century.
- One Free-choice song (either a composition or an arrangement).
- S(S) A(A) / T(T)B(B) (A minimum of 3 voices is necessary).
- One of the songs choices must be presented in a capella.
- Age restriction: min. 17 years old. Tolerance: 10% of the number of singers can be 1 year younger than the written age restriction.
- Participants: 20 - 50 singers.
- Total pure singing time is 5-10 minutes.
- Choir prepares 2 songs.
- One of the songs choices must be presented in a capella.
- Equal Voices / Mixed Voices - S(S)A(A) / T(T)B(B) / SATB.
- The use of amplification is not allowed.
- Participants: 16 - 50 singers. No age restriction.
- Total pure singing time is 5-10 minutes.
- Choir prepares 2 songs.
- One of the songs choices must be presented in a capella.
- Choir should present Gospel & Spiritual songs from traditional Afro-America Spiritual Tradition. Modern gospel song and African folksongs cannot be performed in this category.
- Equal Voices / Mixed Voices - S(S)A(A) / T(T)B(B) / SATB.
- Participants: 12 - 50 singers. No age restriction.
- Total pure singing time is 5-10 minutes.
- Choir prepares 2 songs. One of these pieces must be an original work not an arrangement, composed between the 16th and 21st centuries.
- Free without accompaniment, and an unpitched instrument is permissible in one song.
- Equal Voices / Mixed Voices - S(S)A(A) / T(T)B(B) / SATB.
- Participants: 12-24 singers. 16 years above.
- Total pure singing time is 5-10 minutes.
REGISTRATION
A. BIAYA PENDAFTARAN
- Premier Early Bird: Untuk satu kategori (Diskon 50%). Biaya pendaftaran Rp 2.500.000, hanya berlaku untuk 20 peserta yang mendaftar sebelum 31 Januari 2026 dengan mengirimkan tautan video pertunjukan, formulir pendaftaran yang telah diisi lengkap, dan bukti pembayaran pendaftaran. Jika kuota penuh sebelum batas waktu, peserta akan dialihkan ke paket Early Bird.
- Early Bird: Untuk satu kategori (Diskon 25%). Biaya pendaftaran sebesar Rp 3.750.000,-; berlaku bagi peserta yang mendaftar sebelum 31 Januari 2026 dengan mengirimkan tautan video pertunjukan, formulir pendaftaran yang telah diisi lengkap, dan bukti pembayaran pendaftaran.
- Pendaftaran Reguler: Sebesar Rp 5.000.000 untuk setiap kategori dimulai pada tanggal 1 Februari 2026.
- Batas waktu pendaftaran the 7th PENABUR INTERNATIONAL CHOIR FESTIVAL tahun 2026 adalah 10 Juni 2026.
- Biaya yang sudah dibayarkan tidak dapat dikembalikan.
* Panitia akan menutup pendaftaran bahkan sebelum batas waktu apabila slot pertunjukan sudah penuh.
B. REGISTRATION DOCUMENTS
1. Seleksi Awal
- Paduan suara yang ingin berpartisipasi dalam acara PICF 2026 diwajibkan menjalani proses seleksi dengan mengirimkan tautan YouTube satu video pertunjukan langsung terbaru, bukan paduan suara virtual.
- Video yang dikirim harus merupakan penampilan terkini pada bulan Februari 2024.
- Tautan pertunjukan YouTube harus diberikan saat mengisi formulir pendaftaran.
- Hasil seleksi kompetisi akan dikomunikasikan melalui email pada tanggal 30 Juni 2026. Bagi peserta yang tidak lulus seleksi, biaya pendaftaran akan dikembalikan sepenuhnya.
2. Alur Pengisian Formulir
Silakan mendaftar dengan mengisi formulir pendaftaran pada tautan ini: https://penabur.link/PICF2026 dan siapkan dokumen berikut sebelum mengisi formulir pendaftaran:
- Tautan Video Pertunjukan Paduan Suara YouTube.
- Tanda terima pembayaran biaya pendaftaran dengan mencantumkan nama paduan suara Anda di kolom catatan (pdf. atau jpg.)
- Foto Paduan Suara (Format Lanskap) dalam resolusi tinggi (Min. 2Mb dan min. Res 300 dpi).
- Foto Konduktor (Format Potret) dalam resolusi tinggi (Min. 2Mb dan min. Res 300 dpi). Profil Singkat/Biografi Paduan Suara.
- Program Kompetisi (Repertoar). Perubahan program diperbolehkan sebelum 31 Juli 2026.
3. Dokumen Wajib Pasca Seleksi
Dokumen-dokumen berikut WAJIB dikirimkan ke email panitia: info@picf.or.id setelah hasil seleksi diumumkan:
- Surat Pernyataan untuk paduan suara yang mewakili sekolah, gereja, atau mereka yang mengikuti kategori dengan batasan usia. Surat ini harus ditandatangani oleh kepala sekolah atau pejabat berwenang lainnya.
- Pindai atau salin salinan lunak partitur musik untuk PICF26 (persyaratan Komite Artistik).
- Kartu Tanda Pelajar (Untuk paduan suara peserta kategori sekolah) atau Kartu Tanda Pengenal (Untuk paduan suara peserta kategori khusus umur).
4. Ketentuan Fisik Partitur Musik
- 7 set PARTITUR ASLI setiap lagu yang akan dibawakan untuk lagu yang telah diterbitkan oleh penerbit atau
- 7 set PARTITUR dengan lisensi dari Composer/Arranger/Publisher lagu yang akan dibawakan (lisensi wajib dikirimkan).
- Penting: Lagu apa pun yang tidak disetujui panitia tidak dapat ditampilkan. Pengiriman partitur melalui email tidak akan diproses.

A. REGISTRATION FEE
- Registration Fee for one category is USD 300.
- Discount for second category: A 25% discount will be applied to participants registering for the second category, meaning they will be charged USD 225 for it.
- The deadline for the registration for the 7th PENABUR International Choir Festival 2026 is 10th June 2026.
- These fees are non-refundable and payable upon registration to take part in the festival.
* The committee will close the registration even before the time limit if the performance slot is full.
B. REGISTRATION DOCUMENTS
1. Preliminary Screening
- Choirs wishing to participate in the PICF 2026 event are required to undergo a screening process by submitting a YouTube link of one recent live performance video, not a virtual choir.
- The video sent should be the latest performance from February 2024.
- The YouTube performance link should be provided when filling out the registration form.
- The result of the competition screening will be communicated via email on June 30, 2026. For participants who do not pass the screening, the registration fee will be fully refunded.
2. Registration Form Requirements
Please register by filling out the registration form at this link: https://penabur.link/PICF2026 and prepare the following documents before filling out the registration form:
- YouTube Choir Performance Video Link.
- The receipt of registration fee payment with the name of your choir in the notes field (pdf or jpg).
- Photograph of Choir (Landscape Format) in high resolution (Min. 2Mb and min. Res 300 dpi).
- Photograph of Conductor (Portrait Format) in high resolution (Min. 2Mb and min. Res 300 dpi). Choir Short Profile/Biography.
- The Competition Program (Repertoire). Changes of the program are allowed before July 31st, 2026.
3. Post-Screening Document Submission
The following documents MUST be sent to the committee's email: info@picf.or.id after the screening results are announced:
- The Statement Letter for the choir that represents the school, church, or those who take part in a category with age restrictions. The Letter should be signed by the school's principal or another authorised official.
- Scan or soft copy music score for PICF26 (Artistic Committee requirement).
- Student ID Card (For choirs participating in the school category) or ID Card (For choirs participating in age-restricted categories).
4. Music Score Physical Requirements
- Sets of the ORIGINAL MUSIC SCORE of each song which will be performed for the song which has been published by the publisher or
- 7 sets of score with the license from the Composer/Arranger/Publisher of the song that will be performed (the license is mandatory to be sent).
- Important: Any song that is not approved by the committee cannot be performed. The delivery of the music score via e-mail will not be processed.

- The committee will not do any refunds due to transfer errors or for transactions without any notes or with excess funds.
- No refunds for registration fees under any circumstances.
- Please ensure that you transfer funds, including bank service fees. Any shortfall in fees received by the committee if the participant doesn't send the full amount will be billed.
